ABOUT
Dai Asano (b. 1996, Japan) is an artist. After studying business and working as a salaryman in Tokyo, he left this path and moved to Providence, RI, to pursue Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design. During his MFA studies, he developed a practice that blurs the boundary between life and art. Although trained in the photography department, his approach to time moves in the opposite direction—rather than capturing it, he lets it pass. Through his work, he intervenes with daily life in New York to create experiences of the present.
My purpose is to have no purpose in the work.
There is no sense of “You” or “I.”
